SUMMARY:New Business Ideas: One-day Workshop
DESCRIPTION:This informative and interactive workshop is specifically 
 designed to meet the needs of small and medium sized businesses and wi
 ll be led by Dr. Lee Martin and Dr. Andrew Greenman from Nottingham Un
 iversity Business School's Institute for Enterprise and Innovation (UN
 IEI). They will introduce participants to proven tools and techniques 
 to develop novel solutions to their business problems. Participants wi
 ll be encouraged to work together with colleagues from non competing b
 usinesses to explore common issues they may face. Example problems fro
 m previous sessions have included:\n\n· How to choose new markets for
  existing products or services\n\n· How to develop systems to allow y
 ou to delegate decision making\n\n· How to develop a common strategic
  view across different departments\n\nThroughout the day, groups will 
 work together to a gain a deeper understanding of the root causes of t
 heir chosen problem; encourage the generation of novel ideas and to he
 lp evaluate and prioritise their implementation. By the end of the day
  participants will have a clearer understanding of how to address the 
 issue within their business and also have experience of problem solvin
 g methods that they can use on new issues as they arise.\n\nThe worksh
 op will start at 0930 and finish no later than 1600; lunch will be pro
 vide as will refreshments throughout the day. The price of £50 per pe
