28% of all companies registered with Companies House in 2009 were family firms.

Dr Louise Scholes, a member of the team that completes the recent UK Family Business Benchmarking Project, will be presenting trends in family firms and the implications for innovation within family-owned businesses.

Joyce Gemmell is part of just such a family firm, The Cool Creative Company. Joyce will be sharing her views on what makes a family firm successful – and the ways that innovation works to create a successful family business, something she describes as “dear to our hearts”.
